February 19th

I have spent the last couple of weeks feverishly applying for internships over the summer, and I finally have one! I will be working in DC at an online sales and promotion firm. I met one of the employees and an AKPsi event and again at the career fair, so I sent him an email and he forwarded it onto the owner and founder of the company, who conducted an online interview with me. It sounds really exciting, and I cannot wait to start! That mean I will be in DC this summer, so I need to find housing, but one step at a time! Classes end next Friday, and then we have our spring break. I will be going to Vienna, Salzburg, Prague, and Berlin. We've booked the flights to Vienna and back from Berlin, but need to go in to book the trains to the other locations. Im really excited, it should be so much fun! Because classes are almost over, I have been staying in and doing a ton of work, but hopefully it will be worth it. After spring break I start my internship, so thats another thing to look forward to. I interviewed with the company the other day and it seems really cool. She said i would be working with the marketing department, so im excited for that, because I thought that I wouldnt get to because my supervior is the website manager. However, she said the marketing department needs interns, so I could work partly with them because that is my interest and major. Anyway, thats it for now...email me!

February 14th

Happy Valentines Day! I have been awful at updating this! I don't think I have updated this since the snow. Nothing big has been happening around here. We attempted to make crepes the other night and failed miserably, and smoked up the whole apartment, but we finally got it to work in the end, and they were delicious! I really feel like this is home now. We haven't been doing much of the touristy stuff because Im waiting for the family to come so I don't have to do it twice. My friends and I went to London School of Economics the other night to hang in their student union and we met students from the area, which was really nice. One of our roommates is gone this weekend, so me and my other two roommates had a boy free valentines day. We had cocktail hour at the flat and then went out to a fancy dinner, it was really nice! I have my interview tomorrow for my internship, so I am trying to do research on it. I will be working with the website manager, but I was hoping to have something more along the lines of marketing or even advertising. Hopefully it will be a good experience, but I am finding it hard to get information on the company. The area that it is in is right by the London Bridge, so it should be a really nice area. Wish me luck! I will update you on how that goes.

February 4th

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, but nothing that interesting has really happened. I have just been doing more school work, because we have a lot of projects coming up. As I am sure you heard, we got snow the other day, and the entire city shut down completely. While it was only 6 inches, they don't have snow plows here, and had no real way of clearing the snow besides people shoveling it off the sides of the road. Nothing was open besides the grocery store, which is about a 20 minute walk, so we went to get food because I was all out. We ended up waiting in line to pay for over 30 mins, and had to take a cab back home because the stuff was so heavy and the sidewalks were all iced over. My roommate was in Rome this weekend, and she got stuck there for an extra day. She had to fly back to Liverpool and take a train back to London, what a mess! Most of the snow has cleared by now, and Im just doing a lot of work. Next time I post I will try to have more interesting things to say.

January 29th

I am so sorry I haven't written for so long! We went to Dublin and then I got sick and now my computer is broken, so I am borrowing a friends.

Dublin was amazing! I had no idea it was so expensive, but we managed to figure out ways to spend less money. We took a 7am flight and had to wake up at 3am to get to the airport, so we were a little worn out. We went straight to the Guinness Storehouse when we got there. It was seven stories and really cool! At the very top was a sky bar in which you could see over all of Dublin. It was amazing! After that we wondered around the city, checked into the hostel, and met up with a friend who is studying there. At night we went on a musical pub crawl, which was probably the most memorable part of the trip. It was led by 2 professional musicians; one played violin while the other played guitar and sang. They taught us all about irish music and the traditions, taught us songs, and played for us for almost three hours. The next day we went to some museums and toured some more, and flew home late at night. We didnt sleep much at all, and I think thats why I got sick.

Monday we went to the Tower of London for class, and it was really cool! We saw the Crown Jewels along with everything else in there. Some of the diamons were over three hundred carats! After that there was a man on the side of the road selling the georgeous paintings of the london skyline in black and white, with two people walking in red, so I got one. When we got home I started feeling sick, and Ive been inside ever since

I feel much better now, and the Dell people are coming to the apartment tomorrow to replace my keyboard for free, so thats pretty amazing! I promise I will be better about posting in the future.

January 21st

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't updated in a couple of days, but not much has really been going on. The inauguration was the other day, and that was really exciting! We had class for six hours, and then we went to an American style bar where they were broadcasting the inauguration throughout the bar. IT was fun because mostly Americans came, and they had decorated the place with the American flag, red white and blue balloons, and other American things. It felt like we were at home again, so that was nice. We stayed there for about six hours, and then went home. Yesterday, Joel and I went to the V&A Museum. It is the biggest museum I've ever seen! We went through a third of it, and we had to leave because they were closing, but we need to go back. I kept thinking of Rachel, because its all about Natural History, and they have cool fossils and stuff. Ill have to take her there when she comes to visit.

As I said in a previous post, the RA lives in the flat with us. She is studying voice at the Royal Academy of Music here in London. She walks around the flat singing all day and she is so good! Tonight she has a performance for school, so the four of us are all going. Im really excited to finally hear her sing on stage, because she truly has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard!

We're going to Dublin this weekend, so I may not be able to write for another couple of days, but I will let you all know how that goes when I get back.

January 17th

Today was amazing! We went to Stonehenge and the Roman Baths in Bath. We woke up at 6:45am to catch the bus, and drove up to Stonehenge which was about an hour away. It was very cool to actually see it up close, but we spent an hour there, and I don't know how long you can really look at rocks. They had it all roped off so you couldnt really get that close to it. Then we got back on the bus and went to Bath, which was about an hour and a half drive. The city is so amazing! They told us the history of it which was very interesting. All of the buildings have to be made out of the same stone so it stays consistent, and it was just amazing to see how it was built. It was very hilly, but the buildings looked as if they ran along the hills. The Roman Bath was so cool, because the earth heats the water to be about 125 degrees, so it was steaming and bubbling on its own! We spent about an hour looking at the baths and the history of the town, and then we were given about two hours to walk around. There was so much to do, that we couldnt possibly get it all in that day. We ate fish and chips and a local pub, which was cheap and amazing! They we walked around for about an hour, but we are planning on going back for a day trip later on. When we got back home, my friend Katie and I met dad's co-worker at a club for her birthday. The club was really cool, and we ended up having two of our friends meet us there. We then left to go to a casino so the guys could gamble, and we met some more locals who told us the good places to go visit. Everybody is so friendly here, I really love it a lot!

January 16th

Sorry I haven't really update in a couple of days, but nothing too exciting has really happened. I had no class on Wednesday or Thursday, so we just spent the days running errands and exploring. We saw this show called We Will Rock You. It was this musical that takes place 300 years from now, and all the people are pretty much clones because they all learn the same things, dress exactly the same, and the music is all programmed. Music and instruments has been banned. There is the rebel group called the Bohemians (Sound familiar?) and they are trying to bring rock back. All of the music is queen. It was interesting, good plot but just very weird. We've been meeting some new people, so that's really fun. Tomorrow we are spending the entire day at Stonehenge and the Roman Baths. The organization is taking us for free, so it should be really cool. Also, next weekend Joel and I are going to Dublin, so that should be amazing! Lots of things to look forward to!
